Hi, !

TL;DR

  • David is Back from Paternity Leave It's been a second, but I am currently catching up on work and re-onboarding again with the staff. See video below for baby videos and pictures!

  • Personal & Family Evangelism Spotlight Because of your prayers we've made some amazing headway into caring and sharing the gospel with the Aljareh family!

  • New Financial Adjustments for a Family of 6  For this year's cost of living adjustments, we are asking our board to approve us to increase our support raising ceiling. This is so that we can raise an additional amount to match the low income requirements of a family of 6 according to the US Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Santa Ana-Anaheim-Irvine, CA HUD Metro FMR Area. Pray that we would have unity with our leadership in coming to a consensus together.

Long Version (~7 min)

Hi Family,

It's been an exciting week back for sure. God's already opened a few doors for us since entering back into the workforce.

  1. A new friendship with a Zaira, a mom from Skyview Elementary (school for homeless children) - We got to pray for them recently, sent meals to them, and even found some new donations for them as they are looking to stabilize their home. Zaira has 5 kids and cares for them by herself.

  2. Ukraine Resettlement Potluck - We're continuing to come alongside the new resettlement team and coach and mentor them as they receive their new family. More on that soon!

  3. Pastoral Ordination Requirements - I had a chance to do my first hospital visit since returning stateside. Pastor Eric had given me an opportunity to go in his place to visit a family and pray for their sick daughter. Not easy, but a privilege to pray and grieve with them.

  4. A new breakthrough with Syrian family - See below for story!

Because of your prayers, God broke through and gave us new inroads this past weekend to share the Gospel more explicitly. Our friends Adam and Val from our church even got to come and play a support role with us. Through our conversations during lunch with the family, Reagan got to share a short scripture passage with one of the daughters today from Matthew 25:35-40. The Al Jareh family stayed with us for a few hours after lunch, and it was a wonderful time getting to chat and learn more about each other. This is a text that we received from the oldest daughter this evening sent to Reagan. Amazing. Simply amazing. Praise God. We now have another opening to follow up and to love on her well. Not only that, there was another follow up in the morning:Lot's more to process here, but we are definitely making headway into caring and loving this family. Pray that Reagan would get another chance to connect with Tasneem and share more about the love of Christ with her. We know that discussions in these matters have huge ramifications as it can disrupt or cause dishonor in a family for shame based cultures. Please pray for much wisdom as we continue to care for them.Thank you for your faithful giving and support. We definitely can't do this work without you all!In Christ,David, Reagan, Judah, Ezra, Joy, and Evy

    How About You?

We try to take some time each day to pray for our ministry partners, and we like knowing we are praying for specific, current things in their lives.  , we would love to hear an update on your life and how we can pray for you.

    Support Update:

Because we receive oversight for the funds that we raise, we have to work with our board of elders and finance team to determine a new standard of living each year. They make sure we have enough to pay rent and live, and we are held accountable for how we use the funds. For this year's cost of living adjustments, we are asking our board to approve us to increase the ceiling so that we can raise the low income requirements of a family of 6 according to the US Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Santa Ana-Anaheim-Irvine, CA HUD Metro FMR Area. We have almost 87% of our needs for this mid 2022-23 ministry year.If this new income requirement is approved, we will need to raise an additional $1340 USD per month to hit our goal for basic needs. Here is a breakdown of what this could look like:MONTHLY DONATIONS 1 person at $500 per month 2 people at $300 per month 2 people at $100 per month 3 people at $50 per month 3 people at $25 per month 1 person at $5 per month 1 person at $1 per monthOne-time donations are also great and can be broken down this way:INDIVIDUAL ONE-TIME DONATIONS 1 person at $2500 1 people at $2000 3 people at $1000 6 people at $500 7 people at $250 12 people at $100 1 person at $71.99With rising inflation and our family growing, would you consider praying about a possible increase in funding or help refer us to new potentially interested partners? We'd love to meet with them in person or on Zoom and share the vision of this ministry with them! Please pray for God's provision as always. If you're interested in fresh coffee let us know we can roast for you a 12oz bag! We're piloting this to a few friends and family to see if it's a viable source of extra income to support our growing family. David has picked up roasting the last couple years as he roasts most coffee that we drink at home. It saves us money and its delicious fresh! The goal would be to set up a subscription if there is enough interest. Not only that, but this roasting platform could serve as a future outreach vehicle to non-christian friends who love coffee or would like to come over learn to roast and just talk about life. We're not looking to open a coffee shop, but rather another way to enjoy life together with our neighbors. Either way, David and I love coffee so its a win regardless! We currently have a few single origins on tap such as Brazil, Ethiopian, Guatemala, Sumatra... just to name a few. Any donation would be appreciated. Retail price is usually around $18-24 depending on the region. Just let us know what roast you usually buy and if you want it ground or whole. We recommend whole as that is the freshest.  If you would like to learn more on how you can partner with us, you can ask us, check out our website, or click the button below!
