Latest Ta Family Update

New newsletter format for 2026!

Dear Missionaryish Family,

We hope you are doing well. Something new that we are doing is shortening our updates. We'll post prayer requests, pictures, and things we've been up to, and of course continue to post long-form essays. However, we have recently overhauled the whole system. Not only have the essays been streamlined, they've been redesigned to optimize readability and have been shortened here in the newsletter so as not to overwhelm the reader. That way, those who are interested in reading more and understanding the state of theological reflection at Missionaryish can click to read more, engage more deeply, and it also has a home in case you can't check it out and would like to explore it with us later.

We're so excited to share with you this new body of work on spiritual warfare, but more particularly, we are now reframing it as covenant warfare. Our interest in this topic really gives birth to the possibility of preparing better for outreach, to love the nonbeliever better, but most of all to be in awe of the breadcrumb trail that God has left for us to discover his beauty and help others see it too.

Quick Update

David is currently in his 6th week at seminary for this semester with about 6 more classes till degree completion.

Reagan is currently helping the girls wean off their naps, and the boys are continuing to progress well, now being in PreK. They now know how to unbuckle themselves, and the girls have learned to love the library and picking out new books. Levi himself has begun to crawl and recently celebrated his 1st birthday!

Recently, we had a chance to sabbath and take a trip with friends who came to town to visit. They were our first friends from LA to visit since we've moved here. It was wonderful to be able to celebrate my birthday with them.

Missionaryish is now in its 2nd year. We're working hard to refine the mission with the board and will be presenting a new proposal to capture the focus in a more succinct manner. We'll share that with you all soon. Just putting it into writing is the hardest part, as last year the major milestone was simply to get the nonprofit IRS certified. Now we get into the nitty-gritty of what those details are for this year and the coming years.

Thank You again to all of you who continue to give and pray for the ministry!

We've had friends we fought alongside with, shared our life with, grieved with, celebrated victories with. Yet today they themselves would say: I am no longer a Christian.

This is the grief that Reagan and I are both holding. And it's a grief that missionaries everywhere need to learn how to name.
