Compassion Update 6/5/19

Hi, Compassion Team!
Here's the update for this week.
Team Meeting:
We will be holding our monthly team meeting at 12pm on the last Sunday of each month. Our next meeting will be Sunday, June 30th.
Survey Results:
Roles: Yay, nearly everyone was most excited about a different role on the team! Here's what we have:
Research & Representation: Clark
Event Coordination: Carissa
Publicity: Mindy
Note Taking: Erika
Diane is flexible, so we will keep talking about where her gifts will be best used. No other role ideas have been suggested at this time.Family Promise: Yes. Additional comments from the survey:
"I do think our team should focus on one volunteer opportunity at a time, so we should probably hold off on asking for Skyview donations on these days, or the weeks leading up to it (since we will need to publicize, especially for those summer dates)."
"I think so. (Sounds like a good program but still don't have a feel for it.)"

Comments, Questions, or Concerns:
"I'm wondering at what point would we want to limit the number of new organizations we partner with; like the balance between partnering with many (and offering many more opportunities to the church) and partnering with a few (but deeply) -- did we discuss this?"
Skyview:
Partner Questionnaire: Reagan has been able to fill out most of the questionnaire for Skyview, but we need to get more info from Mickey DeLaCruz to finish it. (You can view the questionnaire here.)Donations: Hygiene item donations are due by June 9th. Thank you, Carissa, for setting up the donation box!Since we will be promoting the upcoming Family Promise outreach (details below), let's put a hold on collecting new donations until after that's over.
Family Promise:
Family Promise of Orange County partners with local churches to provide meals and short-term housing to homeless families. Trinity is helping First Christian Church of Orange to host families June 30-July 6.Volunteer opportunities include providing a meal, getting to know the families over dinner, shopping for supplies, setup, and others. To view all the volunteer opportunities or sign up to help, click here.We will be promoting this in the bulletin and Enews, starting this week. We have also been given permission to make an on-stage announcement to promote this volunteer opportunity on June 16th.
What Now?
If you have been assigned a specific role on the CT, please check your email for more info about your role and some ways you can begin taking up the mantle.
That's it for this week! We are so thankful for all of you!- David & Reagan
