Compassion Update 6/5/19

Hi, Compassion Team!

Here's the update for this week.

Team Meeting:

Our next meeting will be Sunday, June 30th.

Skyview:

Partner Questionnaire:  Kris Song and Clark Chang completed the questionnaire, and we have sent it off to the session for review.Donations:  The Orange Community Group, Clark, and some others went to Skyview this past weekend to drop off the donated hygiene items and organize the donation pantry.  Future projects:  Kris and Melissa Song and their CG is going to keep getting events on the calendar with Skyview for this summer and likely invite other interested folks (who have expressed interest) to join along.  Even though the Songs are not part of the official voting and decision making on the CT, we do see them as an integral part of mobilizing the church for compassion as a whole. They help us keep the pulse of the interest of the church and the CGs at the moment.

Family Promise:

The Family Promise volunteer week starts next Sunday, and there are still a few volunteer slots left.  This is a great opportunity for our CGs, families, and even nonbelieving friends to serve our community, so we would encourage you to invite them!  To view all the volunteer opportunities or sign up to help, click here. Thanks, Mindy, for making the announcement this past Sunday!

What Now?

At our next meeting, we are going to talk about the vision for the Compassion Team this year, including:

  • establishing a communication workflow (i.e., what is the order of events when we receive word of a new volunteer opportunity)

  • 2019 event calendar

  • different ways to advertise compassion opportunities

  • creating a culture of compassion

That's it for this week!  We are so thankful for all of you!- David & Reagan
